This Privacy Policy describes how Encore ("we," "us," or "the app") collects, uses, and shares information about you when you use the Encore mobile application. We respect your privacy and aim to be transparent about what data we collect and why.
Information We Collect
Information You Provide
- Account information: when you create an account, we collect your email address, username, display name, and password (stored as a one-way hash — we never see your actual password).
- Profile information: optional details you add to your profile, such as a bio, country, avatar, and links to your social media profiles.
- Content you create: concert logs, ratings, reviews, photos, lists, favorites, comments, and likes.
- Communications: emails or messages you send to our support address.
Information Collected Automatically
- Device information: device type, operating system, app version, language, and time zone.
- Usage data: screens viewed, features used, and approximate frequency of use.
- Crash and performance data: diagnostic information that helps us fix bugs.
Information from Third Parties
- Sign in with Apple / Google: if you choose to sign in with these services, we receive your name and email address.
- Subscription information: when you purchase Encore Plus, Apple and our subscription provider (RevenueCat) share transaction information with us, including subscription status and renewal dates. We do not receive your payment card or billing details.
How We Use Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve the app and its features
- Authenticate your account and keep it secure
- Display your content (such as ratings and reviews) according to your privacy settings
- Send transactional emails (password resets, important account notices)
- Send push notifications you have opted in to
- Process subscriptions and manage premium entitlements
- Detect, investigate, and prevent fraud or abuse
- Comply with legal obligations
How We Share Information
Public Content
Concert ratings, reviews, lists, and profile information you mark as public are visible to other Encore users and may appear in search results. You can change the visibility of individual logs at any time.
Service Providers
We use third-party services to operate the app. These providers process data on our behalf:
- Railway — server hosting and database
- RevenueCat — subscription management
- Firebase (Google) — push notifications and crash reporting
- Apple — App Store transactions and Sign in with Apple
- Google — Sign in with Google
Each provider has its own privacy policy. We share only the data needed for them to perform their service.
Legal Requests
We may disclose information if required to do so by law, court order, or other valid legal process, or if we believe disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, the safety of users, or the public.
What We Don't Do
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your personal information with advertisers. We do not use your content to train AI models.
Data Retention
We keep your account information for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account (via Settings → Delete Account), we permanently remove your personal information, logs, ratings, reviews, and uploaded content from our active databases within 30 days. Some information may remain in encrypted backups for up to 90 days before being permanently erased.
Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the following rights:
- Access: request a copy of the personal information we hold about you
- Correction: update inaccurate information through your profile, or by contacting us
- Deletion: delete your account and personal data via the app or by contacting us
- Export: download your ratings as CSV via Settings → Export ratings
- Withdraw consent: opt out of push notifications via Settings → Notifications

Children
Encore is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 in the European Economic Area). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
International Data Transfers
Encore is operated from Portugal. By using the app, you understand that your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your own, including the United States, where our service providers operate.
Security
We use reasonable security measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords, and access controls. However, no system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via the app or by email. The "Last updated" date above will reflect the most recent revision.
